I tried trouble shooting it with no luck but it continued to work well all through the second year too except for the intermitent sound. Then at the end of year two I decided to switch it out for an Acer. I am now at the 16th month with my Acer and having the almost identical issue. I am beginning to think laptops have a 2 year life as a primary computer.
