This jumbo ear plug for the desk is very imaginative.

I think the humor generated by the huge earplug is captured by the words “functional surprise.” So many of the Lego products possess this pleasing element.

When we expect one thing from an idea and something else is delivered entirely, if that something represents past enjoyment, past play, as with Lego,we smile or laugh as a way of expressing appreciation for the expansion of life’s possibilities. This jumbo earplug strikes me as a product of that kind.
